Crocheted Wristlet

I've been wanting a wristlet for a while. September is a little late for it - they're more in demand when you're wearing a pocketless sundress than a fall jacket - but I got it in my head to crochet one anyway. It holds everything I might need when I want to leave the house lightly packed and won't weigh me down with the annoying bulk of a purse.

The body is just a rectangle of crochet folded over with the ends closed up and a zipper sewn in by hand. The strap is a length of my Ophelia lace with a button on one end that I wove in and out of a row of triple crochet.

The button-up strap is deliberate - if I'm wearing a belt, I can attach the pouch to that instead of my wrist, and so avoid any encumbrance at all. Oh, I do love not having to carry anything!
