Guest Post - Shoe Tutorial

Today I have someone special to share with you: Debbie Woods, also known as my Mom. She is the one who taught me to sew - and with my childhood attention span resembling that of a daydreaming butterfly, that was no mean feat. She also taught me by example that just about anything can be made or altered the way you want it, whether it's a home-made Little Mermaid backpack, a fancy graduation hairpiece, or custom furniture for a tiny student bedroom.

Mom has had an ongoing struggle with shoes. None of them seem to fit right. So she finally grabbed a pair of sharp scissors and a scrapbooking fastener kit and took matters into her own hands. Here she shares her tutorial in pictures so that you, too, can alter your shoes to fit.

Materials:

Cut tongue lengthwise.

Looking scary!

Punch holes.

Insert eyelets.

Secure eyelets with daisy tool.

I can alter basic clothing, but altering shoes? How cool is that?!!
