A little break

With the descent of exam time, blogging and sewing have to quietly take a back seat for a little while. Fortunately (or unfortunately?), my exams are all between next Monday and Saturday, so my period of frenzied studying will be brief.

To tide us over, I took a few moments to put into practice one of the suggestions given by both Amanda and Helen for my collection of flower ornaments.

(I apologize for the quality of the photos - I won't be able to buy my own camera until (if) i get approved for the grant, so for now I'll have to do my best with the webcam.)

Here is my first flower headband, made from lace, vintage jewelry and part of a white T-shirt. I love the versatility of jersey knit. The rest of that shirt has been sewn into a skirt with which I am quite pleased - so pleased that I won't waste its documentation on a webcam, so you'll just have to wait until I have access to a proper camera again. In the meantime, think white, think lace, and think twirly.

Here is what the headband looks like on a head. Mine, for now. The double strands are less visible, but they add a lot of structural support.

That's my little project for the day. To all the other students out there - best of luck! And don't worry. Exams don't last forever...
